Custom orthotics, close to home in Portland

Portland feet take a beating, from the bridges and hills of daily commutes to the running trails of Forest Park and the Waterfront. When heel pain, arch collapse, or a nagging sports injury won't quit, over-the-counter insoles rarely fix it, because they aren't built for your foot. Custom orthotics are.

Dr. Denny Le, an Oregon native and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, sees custom-orthotics patients on both sides of the river: at our Hoyt clinic in Northeast Portland, next to Providence Portland Medical Center, and at our Cedar Mill clinic in Northwest Portland off Cornell Road. Wherever you are in the city, there's a location a short drive away.

Every device starts with a full biomechanical evaluation and a 3D cast of your foot in its corrected position, then it's fabricated to Dr. Le's exact prescription and fine-tuned at your fitting. The goal isn't to cushion the symptom. It's to fix the mechanics underneath it.

What to expect

From first visit to full relief

Getting custom orthotics at NES is a streamlined, four-step clinical process, designed around your schedule and your outcome.

STEP 01
Biomechanical evaluation
Dr. Le assesses your gait, foot structure, range of motion, and history. A thorough clinical picture, not a quick look.
STEP 02
Precision foot casting
A 3D mold is taken of your foot in the corrected position. This becomes the foundation for your custom device.
STEP 03
Lab fabrication
Your orthotics are manufactured to Dr. Le's exact specifications, typically ready in 2 to 3 weeks.
STEP 04
Fitting & follow-up
Dr. Le fits and fine-tunes your orthotics. Adjustments are included, and we stay with you until it feels right.
