About Dr. Ron Bowman
Dr. Bowman is a native Oregonian raised on a family wheat farm in Northeastern Oregon. He completed orthopedic surgery residency in 1991 and initially practiced in Pendleton, Oregon, providing general orthopedics including arthroscopic surgery, total joint replacements, trauma, and hand, foot, and ankle surgery. He was first certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in 1993 and later received the Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Bowman relocated to the Portland area in 2003 to focus on the treatment of injured workers. He has served as Chairman of the Oregon Workers' Compensation Medical Advisory Committee since 2004 (elected position). His practice today comprises over 80% workers' compensation cases, with a focus on shoulder pain and instability from rotator cuff and labral tears, knee pain and instability from meniscal and cartilage injuries, and ligament damage. He incorporates the latest biologics into his treatment approach. Surgeries are performed at Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center in Tualatin, Providence Willamette Falls Hospital, and Legacy Meridian Park Hospital.
