Yes — all three are routinely accepted at our Tigard Locust office. Bring your claim number to your first visit and we handle the rest.

Do you accept Washington L&I or OWCP / FECA?

No. Dr. Bowman is not credentialed with Washington L&I or OWCP / FECA. Select podiatrists at NES do accept OWCP for foot and ankle cases — call our billing team to route you correctly.

What about Longshoremen claims?

Yes. Dr. Bowman is one of the few orthopedists in the Portland metro accepting Longshoremen and harbor-worker compensation (USL&H) claims.

How old can my injury be?

WC claims with a date of injury more than one year ago and MVA claims older than six months are typically referred out. Newer injuries are seen routinely.

Do you handle IMEs and depositions?

Yes. Dr. Bowman performs IMEs, WRMEs, Arbiters' Exams, and provides deposition testimony. Legal scheduling is coordinated through our centralized team — your attorney or carrier will have the contact information.

NES is one of the busiest workers' compensation orthopedic practices in the Portland metro. Dr. Ron Bowman has chaired the Oregon Workers' Compensation Medical Advisory Committee since 2004 and handles a high volume of WC cases at our Tigard Locust office. PA-C Landon Masterfield supports the practice with follow-ups, joint injections, cast and brace fittings, and procedural care. We accept SAIF, Majoris, Providence MCO, Longshoremen / USL&H claims, and motor-vehicle-accident coverage.

How we diagnose

A WC initial visit takes about 45 minutes. Bring your claim number, claim adjuster contact info, and any prior imaging or records on a CD. We document the mechanism of injury, perform a focused exam, take on-site digital X-rays for most musculoskeletal injuries, and coordinate MRI or ultrasound when soft-tissue detail matters. You leave the visit with a written treatment plan, work-restriction recommendations if applicable, and a follow-up scheduled.

Treatments we offer

We bring the same conservative-first philosophy to workers' compensation patients that we bring to every patient. Surgery is on the table when it is genuinely the right call, but it is never the first option. Returning a worker to function — at modified duty if needed — is always the priority.

Initial WC evaluations

Mechanism-of-injury assessment, exam, imaging, written treatment plan, and work-restriction documentation for the carrier.

Joint injections

Corticosteroid and hyaluronic acid injections for shoulder, elbow, knee, and other joints.

Surgical care

Shoulder and elbow surgery, knee arthroscopy, hand/wrist procedures for injuries that warrant it. Dr. Bowman does not perform total joint replacement or treat the spine — those cases are referred to the appropriate specialist.

Independent medical examinations

IMEs, WRMEs, Arbiters' Exams, and legal-scheduling support — coordinated through our centralized scheduling team.

Coordinated physical therapy

On-site PT at our Tigard Locust clinic so post-op or post-injury rehab happens in the same building as your provider.

Return-to-work planning

Realistic work-restriction recommendations, graduated return-to-duty plans, and ongoing communication with employers and claim adjusters.
